State plans resurfacing on Highway 13 and Highway 169; county to bid County Highway GG projects

The resurfacing project through the town will include water and sewer work paid for by the city.
Staff also said State Highway 169 is scheduled for resurfacing and that the Bad River Bridge will receive a new deck; Northwoods Paving was named as the general contractor for that work, with a discussed contract figure of about $7,104,000. Committee members asked whether shoulder widening or grooving would be part of specific segments and staff said shoulder paving and center-line grooving are typical state treatments.
County Highway GG will be split into two county projects (Quarry Road to the Marytown city limits and Marytown city limits to State Highway 13) so the county can capture LRIP/LREP funding that is provided in two separate allocations by DOT; staff plans to put those county projects out to bid within about a month. Committee members raised questions about project extents and whether particular segments would be widened or receive paved shoulders; staff offered to follow up with the state plan sets and report back.
