The Wausau Plan Commission approved a signage plan for the Lockrey Development project known as Banter Living at 1520 Elm Street during its May 20, 2025 meeting. The motion to approve came from Commissioner Brueggemann, was seconded by Commissioner Borneman, and passed by voice vote.
Brad, a staff member, told the commission the project is a Planned Unit Development and city staff has worked with the sign company to refine the design. "This is a PUD. We've been working with the sign company on refining this a little bit and we think it's, more in line with our standard zoning," Brad said. The plan includes a multi-tenant corner sign and building signage retained within the PUD framework.
No public comment was recorded on the signage plan. The commission approved the signage plan as submitted; any final permits or technical sign details will proceed through the standard sign-permit review process as required under city procedures.
