City center renovations continue; staff reassignments follow growth

City staff told the Whitehouse Planning and Zoning Commission that renovations at the city center are ongoing and that two site superintendents are on site to accelerate work.
"We do have 2 site superintendents on-site now. So we have 1 focusing on exterior, 1 focusing on interior," a city staff member said, and staff noted the exterior stone currently on the building will be removed and reinstalled due to quality issues. Staff said the expected public opening for the facility remains in the August–September timeframe.
The commission was also briefed on internal staffing changes tied to growth and the city center project. Staff said Susan will move to economic development; Morgan, currently a permit technician, will move to manage the city center. The city has posted openings for a development director and a permit technician to fill the resulting vacancies.
Staff asked commissioners to note the staffing postings and recruit candidates as appropriate. No formal commission action was taken on the renovations or staffing during the meeting.
