Council approves consent agenda: liquor and business license renewals; two mayoral appointments

The West Bend Common Council on May 19 approved its consent agenda, items 2 through 18, which included multiple routine license renewals and several mayoral appointments.
The consent package covered a range of licenses listed in the meeting packet: Class A and B liquor licenses (including reserve and combo types), Class B beer and Class C wine licenses, cigarette/tobacco/electronic vaping licenses, massage establishment licenses, amusement arcade and device licenses, and secondhand dealer license renewals. Council members voted to approve the grouped renewals by voice vote.
The council also approved mayoral appointments. Rebecca Serwatt was appointed to the downtown Business Improvement District (BID) board to replace her husband, Tracy Serwatt, who had asked to step down. The mayor noted the Serwatts own several downtown buildings and supported the appointment.
Jed Dalnick was appointed to both the Board of Zoning Appeals and the Plan Commission, replacing former commissioner Chris Schmidt, who is no longer a city resident. The mayor said Dalnick had previously served on the Plan Commission and had expressed interest in returning; council approved both appointments by voice vote.
The packet included a prior presentation regarding the Oak and Hogg establishment and its planned work; council noted that item had previously been discussed and moved forward in the consent approvals.
