Planning staff report: Kiss City expansion and Commerce Point site plans under review

At its May 20 meeting the City of Franklin Planning Commission received a report from planning staff on items considered by the Technical Review Committee in April.
Joanna, representing the planning department, said the technical review committee met on April 24 and reviewed four agenda items. The first was an expansion proposal for Kiss City at 1950 North Graham Road; the applicant proposes additions to the existing facility to expand services to the Franklin community and anticipates adding a grade-school program if the project moves forward.
The committee also reviewed two site development plans for Commerce Point: Lot 4 for a Dutch Bros coffee location and Lot 2 for a Chick-fil-A. Joanna said those site plans are currently "going through the review process" and construction may proceed once the subdivision is ready and individual site approvals are complete. Joanna also noted that the Umbarger Lane annexation and rezoning was scheduled to be heard by the commission that evening.
No final approvals or construction permits were reported at the May 20 meeting; the items remain in staff review. Joanna did not provide construction schedules or funding details for the projects during the report and recommended that interested parties contact the planning department for further information.
