Bonner County prosecutors ask that law-library funding move to prosecutor budget; commissioners clear tort expenses to tort fund

The Bonner County Board of Commissioners spent the workshop reviewing proposed changes to the prosecutor'office budget, including a request to move the county'paid legal-library subscription into the Prosecutor B budget and an agreement to charge tort litigation and related attorney fees to the tort fund when appropriate.

Prosecutor said the office wanted the law-library cost consolidated: "the idea would be to take the entire line item out of the Civilite budget and put it over in the Prosecutor's B budget so that you know, we just have 1 place to track the value of that, line item and how it's being spent." That change, the prosecutor said, would reduce confusion when the same subscription was partly funded from two budgets.
