The Hewitt City Council on Tuesday approved an extension of the city's audit contract with Petillo Brown and Hill LLP for the audit years ending 2025 and 2026.
City staff told the council the firm had performed audits for the prior three fiscal years and that the city's agreement includes two one-year renewal options. Staff asked council to authorize use of the remaining options to retain the firm for the next two audit years.
Council member Mr. Turner moved to extend the agreement; Mr. Stevens seconded. The clerk called the roll and the council announced the motion carried 6 to 0.
The extension uses the option already provided in the firm's agreement; the presentation did not include changes to rates or scope beyond the two additional one-year terms.
