The commissioner advised residents who plan to visit state parks to consult the DNR website before traveling: "So if you use those parks... look at the DNR website and make sure that when you get there, you can get in."
The remarks did not specify exact start dates for reservations, the reservation window, whether reservations would replace all day-of entry, or how the reservation system would affect access for St. Mary's County residents specifically. The commissioner identified Greenbrier and Sandy Point as parks where reservations already started and said Point Lookout and Newtown Neck will be added later this year.
