Pataskala’s development committee voted to send proposed code language for hotels and extended‑stay facilities to the formal code amendment process and on to the planning commission for review.
During committee remarks, a councilmember said, "Scott did a excellent job... on the code for, the hotel and extended stays. We... approved to move it through to the code amendment process, the next stop will be planning time." The item will now follow the city’s code amendment and public review steps, beginning with the planning department.
Committee members noted the draft contains many redlines and that additional review will occur at planning commission meetings. No ordinance adoption or final approval occurred at the council meeting; the action recorded was a committee recommendation to begin the amendment process.
