Commissioners said the pergola’s posts and rafters appeared overly stout and “whimsical,” and directed the applicant to prepare a more typical, less visually prominent pergola profile and to make materials finish natural to weather. The applicant agreed to submit revised pergola drawings for the next meeting; the demolition itself was accepted subject to those design revisions.
