Newberg business owner raises long‑running concern about abandoned vehicles on Industrial Parkway; staff to follow up

During public comment at the May 19 meeting, Mark Lundgren, who said he has operated a business in Newberg for 30 years, urged the city to act on long‑standing parking and abandoned‑vehicle problems at the end of Industrial Parkway.
Lundgren said he had repeatedly called city enforcement over roughly six years about vehicles left on the street, alleged spills of gasoline and oil, and a lack of enforcement response. "I've called the city multiple times for the ordinance guy... Nothing gets done," Lundgren said. He also said some complaints were addressed after nearby construction began, but he described repeated frustration with the response and said he had video of pollutants being discharged from parked vehicles.
Mayor Rick Rosacker asked staff to follow up between meetings. Neil (building official) and other staff agreed to investigate and provide additional information to Lundgren and the council before the next meeting. No formal council action was taken during public comment; the mayor requested staff follow‑up and Neil indicated staff would respond.
