Committee votes to deny new liquor, cigarette license for 9730 West Greenfield; moves decision to full council

The City of West Allis Economic and Development Committee voted to deny a new Class A liquor and cigarette license for 97 30 Enterprises LLC, doing business as Sunny Liquor, at 9730 West Greenfield Avenue. An alder representing the district said she would move to deny the license because the neighborhood already contains numerous liquor stores and places selling cigarettes and vaping products: “I just feel that there's already there is 6 liquor stores within less than 1 mile… and there's 13 places to get cigarettes and vape within less than a mile and a half. I do not feel that we need another liquor store,” she said.
