Knight said he understood the time commitment and could complete open-records training "by taking a class or through an online course within a reasonable time frame." The council placed the appointment on its consent agenda and approved it during the regular meeting.
The council did not debate Knight’s qualifications further during the regular meeting; staff recorded the appointment on the consent agenda as "appoint Rhys Knight junior to the planning zoning commission place 2 for term 1 year 6 months," and the consent agenda passed by voice vote.
