The Dennis‑Yarmouth Regional School Committee declared five district vehicles surplus at its May 19 meeting so the fleet items can be sold or otherwise disposed of.
A memorandum from the interim assistant superintendent for finance and operations listed three special education transportation vehicles, one maintenance Ford TRACON van and one technology Ford Transit van as having outlived their usefulness. The committee moved and seconded a motion to declare the vehicles surplus and dispose of them by sale or other appropriate means; the motion passed by voice vote.
The superintendent said the staff recommendation follows district policy for disposal of surplus equipment. The committee did not record sale details or reserve prices at the meeting; disposal will follow usual administrative procedures.
