Hinsdale HPC approves two sign permits, postpones a third until applicant appears

The Hinsdale Historic Preservation Commission on May 19 approved two sign permit applications and postponed a third case that lacked an applicant in attendance.
Case ADash21Dash2025 (22 West First Street, Belize Med Spa) was approved for installation of two wall signs. Keith Allad of Integrity Sign Company, the installer, told the commission the work is a branding change and that illumination would remain the same: “Exact same. Yes. Non illuminated on the sign over the doors and externally illuminated on the wall sign.” The commission voted by roll call in favor of the permit.
Case ADash26Dash2025 (114 South Washington Street, Pronto Italian Sandwiches) was approved for one wall sign. Owner Peter Berti described the proposed sign as replacing a previous illuminated sign and said the new design would be partially halo lit for the primary wordmark while the smaller “Italian sandwiches” copy would not be lit. Berti said the business agreed to turn the sign illumination off at 10 p.m. or at closing. The commission approved that application by roll call.
Case ADash32Dash2025 (114 South Washington Street, Destino, projecting sign) was postponed because no applicant was present; the commission agreed to retain the item on the agenda and hear it when the applicant attends.
There were no public objections to the sign cases during the meeting.
