North Ridgeville City Council on May 19 adopted Ordinance 2025-80, an amendment to the 2025 appropriations ordinance, and added an emergency clause at the request of the director of finance to ensure departments have funds to meet immediate obligations.
Finance Director told council the amendment covers items such as replacement of a fire alarm system in City Hall and the senior center, fire alarm and generator inspections at the new police station, Lorain County auditor fees, remittances to North Ridgeville City Schools, and sidewalk inspection refunds. The director asked council to adopt the ordinance with the emergency clause so the finance department would have the resources necessary to meet financial obligations.
Council dispensed with second and third readings, agreed to add the emergency clause and approved the ordinance by roll call. The clerk recorded unanimous or near-unanimous votes consistent with the printed roll call. The finance department will post March and April 2025 financial reports on the city website and execute the appropriations authorized by the ordinance.
