The board approved a one-year renewal of the district's food-service management contract with Organic Life at the May 19 meeting, accepting a 2.5% price increase allowed under the existing contract terms.
Administration said the district conducted a five-year request for bids the prior year and originally awarded a contract to Organic Life. Under that agreement the district may renew annually for up to four additional years with price adjustments no greater than the lower of 5% or CPI; the renewal approved May 19 implements a 2.5% increase for the next year.
A board member clarified the renewal is for one year and that each subsequent renewal would return to the board for approval. The finance committee recommended the renewal following discussion of performance and prior relationship with the vendor.
Motion language at the meeting referred to a renewal figure of $90,000; finance documents in the packet include the renewal percentage and terms. The board approved the renewal by roll call vote.
