Peter Bertie, owner of Pronto Italian Sandwiches, said his proposal replaces the prior Cali Cantina sign and uses halo lighting for the larger letters while the smaller “Italian sandwiches” text will not be backlit; commissioners approved the Pronto sign permit by roll call. When the applicant for the second Pronto-related sign (Poor Destino, case A32-2025) did not attend, the commission postponed that item to a later meeting.
Commissioners emphasized standard conditions: confirm final lighting controls (turn-off times and compliance with village lighting requirements) and ensure any new illumination follows historic-district guidance. Staff said the temporary intent is to match existing illumination patterns where possible and that plan-review requirements (including required lighting cut-off times) would still apply.
