The Machesney Park Public Improvement and Safety Committee approved Resolution 35 R 25 on May 19, 2025, authorizing the village engineer to advertise for design and construction of a right-in/right-out access road to serve the Park 90 subdivision at the northeast corner of Illinois 173 and I-90.
Staff reported the village entered into a development agreement earlier in the year for new retail in the Park 90 subdivision. Under that agreement, the village is responsible for design and construction of the access road connecting Illinois 173 to Greenlee Drive and for associated stormwater improvements; the developer is responsible for site work, landscaping and remaining utility work. Staff said coordination with the developer’s engineer has been ongoing and that final plans for the village’s portion are anticipated to be ready to bid by June or early July, with a construction contract expected to be brought to the board in August. Staff cautioned the schedule may change and said they will update the board as needed.
The committee approved the resolution on a voice vote after a motion by Trustee Bogey and a second by Mr. James; no public comment or recorded roll-call vote was included in the meeting record.
