The Machesney Park Public Improvement and Safety Committee approved Resolution 34 R 25 on May 19, 2025, authorizing staff to advertise and bid a new salt storage facility at 99 Gregory Road.
Staff reported that when the Public Works Building off Gregory Road was planned, the village bought additional land to accommodate a future salt storage facility. Staff said the existing facility on North Alpine Road has deficiencies and that 30% design plans for the Gregory Road facility were reviewed by staff; staff received feedback and was authorized to proceed to final plans. Staff said final plans are expected shortly and bidding is anticipated in early June, with construction anticipated to be completed by September 2025.
The committee approved the resolution on a voice vote after a motion by Trustee Bogan and a second by Mr. James; no public comment or recorded roll-call was given in the meeting record.
