The Tiffin City Council on May 20 adopted Ordinance 25-5 on third reading to continue an existing one-quarter‑percent municipal income tax increase dedicated to maintaining, repairing and improving public streets.
Clerk of Council Ann Forrest reported that the Board of Elections certified the continuation of the existing quarter‑percent road and bridge levy, with total votes cast of 945 — 647 in favor and 298 opposed. Councilor Kevin Reisner moved for passage and noted community support; the ordinance passed 7–0.
Why it matters: the measure continues dedicated revenue intended to support road and bridge maintenance and related capital planning. The council recorded the emergency and final passage on third reading with unanimous support; the vote certification from the Board of Elections was included in the clerk’s report earlier in the meeting.
No amendments or conditions were recorded in the council discussion during the final passage.
