The Tippecanoe County Board of Commissioners approved May 19 a variance request for Timberbrook Estate Subdivision (variance S‑5269) tied to planned County Road 600 North reconstruction and took two highway pavement bids under advisement for later review by county highway staff.
A county planner explained the variance related to a 120‑foot flag lot and noted the county is planning a three‑lane reconstruction of County Road 600 North; the planner and highway staff said there was little point in requiring the developer to build partial pavement that the highway project will replace. Commissioners approved the subdivision variance by motion and voice vote.
Highway staff opened two bids for the Wea (?) School Road pavement improvement project (Eighteenth Street to Concord). Milestone submitted a bid of $663,500; Reith Riley submitted $889,261.20. Commissioners voted to take the bids under advisement so highway staff can review them.
The board also accepted a warranty deed dedicating the eastern half of the right‑of‑way for 425 North between Yeager and Salisbury, from W W Schroeder Land Trust, completing the second and final phase of that right‑of‑way acquisition. The deed was approved by motion and voice vote.
