The Township of Washington Planning Board voted on Dec. 18, 2024, to change its 2025 meeting schedule to start at 7 p.m. and to hold regular meetings on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. The board approved the calendar by voice vote; the January reorganization meeting was set for Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025.
The schedule change was presented as new business and discussed alongside members’ availability. The chair said the change aligns planning board start times with mayor and council meetings. Members noted conflicts with some future dates (March 5 is Ash Wednesday for one member and March 19 was noted as a conflict for another), but the board proceeded to approve the schedule and instructed the board secretary to publish the calendar.
A motion to approve the 2025 meeting dates was moved and seconded on the record and adopted by unanimous voice vote. Board members recorded voting “yes” on the motion included: Mr. Carroll; Mr. Murphy; Mr. Pulino; Mr. Toole; Mr. Toro; Mr. Wojnaransky; Councilman Michael Ullman; Mayor Kalamari; and Chairman Sabino. The board secretary will publish the schedule and share meeting notices with members.
The board also confirmed that, except for the Jan. 2 reorganization meeting (a Thursday), the first and third Wednesday pattern will take effect immediately in 2025. Members were asked to notify the secretary if they could not attend specific dates so the board could manage quorum and substitutions.
