Staff said most leases at the facility are standard renewals or short extensions and that an administrative delegation would allow the county to process those ministerial changes without bringing each amendment individually to the board. They said larger changes—new leases or amendments that alter rent or substantially modify terms—would still come to the board for approval.
Commissioners asked for an updated rent roll and a short plan describing the building’s current tenant mix and intended use; staff agreed to prepare a briefing that includes available space and planned consolidation of internal county uses. Staff said one tenant’s lease expires in June, which would open contiguous space to support county office consolidation if the board chooses to reconfigure occupancy.
No formal delegation vote occurred at the briefing; staff said they would prepare a proposed resolution and supporting materials for the board to consider.
