Presenters said the requested platform would operate inside the district’s network to preserve data privacy and student protections and would provide teachers with tools for lesson planning, feedback and lesson design that automatically reference standards, curriculum maps and item specifications. “What we want is a platform that will be contained within our network that will have the data privacy and student protections, for safety that we have in all of our other, you know, kind of platforms that we use,” a presenter said, adding the program would include AI‑literacy training emphasizing that staff must review and adapt AI outputs rather than copy and paste them.
The board voted 7–0 to authorize application and to accept funds if awarded. Administrators described professional development to take place during the next school year and said the platform could be expanded to students once staff are comfortable implementing AI in instruction.
No budget amount was specified during the meeting; administrators said similar grants had been pursued in prior years and that district staff will return to the board with details if the award is received.
