Yeadon moves forward on grants: Complete Streets policy adopted, parks and transit grants advanced

Yeadon Borough Council adopted a resolution to adopt a Complete Streets policy and unanimously approved staff to pursue several transportation and recreation grant actions, including a community park grant application and a municipal signature designation for a CATA set-aside reimbursement agreement.
Public Works and engineering staff said the Complete Streets policy will support an SS4A (Safe Streets for All) grant application and associated action plan work with Pennoni Engineering. Council voted unanimously to approve the policy resolution (listed as Resolution 2025-006 in meeting discussion). Council also approved a resolution and application to pursue a DCD Greenways, Trails and Recreation grant for community park improvements.
Separately, the borough approved a resolution assigning the borough manager position (rather than an individual name) as the authorized signee for the CATA transportation set-aside reimbursement agreement to avoid future logistical errors. The engineering presenter explained this action was administrative: "the borough needs to assign an individual person as the signee for the reimbursement agreement and... we just want to assign the borough manager as that position," to allow the agreement to move forward.
All grant- and policy-related votes were unanimous. Staff said the Complete Streets work and SS4A planning will proceed with Pennoni; the park grant application and CATA administrative assignment were advanced to meet program deadlines.
