The Gateway School District board approved several vendor and program agreements for the 2025–26 school year, including an absence management/time‑tracking and onboarding contract with Red River, a $60,000 System 123 proposal, EdgePlanet renewal and a suite of after‑school program and service agreements.
During action-item review (items 5.1–5.4 and 7.2–7.12), staff summarized approvals: 5.1 authorized the district’s flexible instruction application required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education; 5.2 approved a sub‑services agreement with ESS Northeast LLC; 5.3 approved an agreement with Red River for absence management, time tracking and onboarding; and 5.4 approved the hire of an administrative assistant for People Services and Special Education. At item 7 staff read a list of service agreements and renewals, including an EdgePlanet renewal for the 2025–26 school year and a System 123 proposal in the amount of $60,000.
Board members asked operational questions about the time‑tracking rollout and whether the system could be programmed to district needs; staff said the Red River product would be phased in and configured. "It'll be phased in," staff said in response to a question about implementation.
The board also approved memoranda of understanding and contracts for after‑school programs, including expansion plans for Pittsburgh After School Academy and Achievers After School Academy to additional school sites (University Park and Evergreen), and multiple agreements with Allegheny Intermediate Unit providers for special education and related services. Board members requested additional detail on program placement and parental choice for elementary sites; staff said the after‑school expansions will prioritize elementary coverage first and that parental choice guides placements.
Several small dollar independent contractor agreements and service proposals (including a $700 contractor agreement) were approved as consent items and will be implemented in the coming school year.
