The board also agreed to create a new time capsule for Morgan Hall (the new building) and asked volunteers and committee members to propose contents and a retention period; commissioners suggested aligning public events and promotion around the Morgan Hall opening and the 2026 capsule opening.
A motion to place the 1976 capsule in the care of the history museum, keep it sealed and open it July 4, 2026, and to plan a new capsule for Morgan Hall passed 3–0.
