The Effingham County Board approved awarding the sheriff’s office first-floor renovation contract to Grumlow Construction Inc., the low bidder at $38,200. County staff reported three local responses to the request for proposals: Grenlow Building Inc., $63,685; Grumlow Construction Inc., $38,200; and Acro Builders, $41,050. A motion to accept the low bid carried by roll call.
Board members said the low local bid met the county’s procurement expectations and moved forward with the contract award. The board instructed county staff to finalize the contract documents with the winning bidder and proceed with the renovation work as budgeted.
