The Board of Public Works approved the city’s 2025 credit-card inventory and authorized staff to proceed with issuing WEX fuel cards once user agreements are signed and a fuel-card policy is finalized.
Staff explained the change is part of a transition from the city’s current blue petroleum cards to WEX fuel cards. “I have all the WEX cards currently, so once everyone signs the fuel, we're working on a fuel card policy. HR, Andrea Smith and I and Nicholas are working on a fuel card policy,” a staff member said.
The inventory was presented to the board for its annual approval and staff said the blue petroleum cards will be removed from active use after the WEX cards are deployed and a hard-stop date established.
Board members voted to approve the 2025 credit-card inventory by voice vote; staff will return when the fuel-card policy and agreements are in place to finalize card distribution and cutover timing.
