Summary
Planning & Zoning staff briefed council on recent commission recommendations, including approval of Millwood Pines subdivision preliminary plat, a zoning map amendment for South Elder Street, a conditional use permit for a cat adoption center, and proposed Nampa City Code amendments to be circulated to council.
Planning and Zoning staff reported several items recommended by the commission that will return to council for final action or information.
Rodney Ashby told council the Planning & Zoning Commission recommended approval of the Millwood Pines subdivision preliminary plat, an annexation and RS‑4 zoning request for a 56‑lot single‑family detached subdivision at the southwest corner of Cherry Lane and 11th Avenue North; that item was scheduled to appear before council in August. The commission also recommended approval of a zoning map amendment from RD to RS‑6 at 1423 South Elder Street to facilitate a home addition; that item is scheduled for July 21.
The commission approved a conditional use permit for a pet adoption center (cats) at 3202 12th Avenue (corner of Dooley Lane and 12th Avenue) and recommended code updates previously requested by councilmember Bills; staff said the actual ordinance text and staff report would be circulated to council the next day to allow time for review.
Staff confirmed the commission’s favorable votes and said they would send the revised code language, staff reports, and the planning files to council in advance of the forthcoming public hearings and final decisions.
