The Columbia County Planning Commission approved a temporary use authorization on May 15 to allow a mobile home to remain at 7561 Lakeside Drive while a new house is constructed on the parcel.
Planning staff described the property as zoned R‑4 in the Greater Winfield Hills area and said the applicant intends to build a new residence approximately 41 by 30 feet behind the existing mobile home. The mobile home would remain on site during construction and be removed once the house is completed. Staff reported no concerns and recommended approval.
Mike Fleming, who identified his affiliation with Wesley UMC but said he was present on behalf of homeowners Stacy and Brenda Slater, said he had no comments beyond answering questions. The commission approved the temporary use authorization by motion and voice vote.
