Kings Park honors student scholars, artists, scientists and parent organizations at May 13 meeting

The Kings Park Central School District used its May 13 meeting to recognize a wide range of student academic, artistic and extracurricular achievements and to thank parent and booster organizations that supported school programs throughout the year.

Kyle Wozniak (announced as valedictorian) was recognized as a 2025 National Merit Scholarship finalist and recipient of multiple academic awards including the Rensselaer Medal.
Academic and extracurricular awards: The board and school leaders recognized student winners in DECA state competition categories (Lauren Vazucci and Alex Ciphone), winners of the Kings Park High School Science Showcase (third place Elle Bidren; second place Leah Angelino; first place Roy Kern who presented work on PFAs), and numerous RJO and William T. Rogers science-fair winners who qualified to represent their schools at Brookhaven National Laboratory.
Arts and safety recognition: Sarah (surname not present) was recognized as a McDonald's art contest winner for grades 9 12 across Western Suffolk County; several elementary students won statewide bus-safety poster contests and received certificates and monetary awards.
Parent groups and boosters: The board acknowledged multiple parent organizations and booster associations across the district, including SEPTA, Fort Salonga PTA, Parkview PFA, RJO BFO, William T. Rogers PFA, the high-school PFA, the Kings Park Performing Arts Boosters Association, the Robotics Booster Association, and the Kings Park Athletic Booster Association. Presenters detailed each group's fundraising, volunteer events and contributions, from funding field trips and scholarships to purchasing instruments and supporting robotics travel to the FIRST Robotics World Championship.
