Waynesville R-VI board moves June meeting, adopts extra duty schedule and career ladder plan; votes to enter closed session

At its May meeting, the Waynesville R-VI Board of Education moved its June regular meeting to June 9 so board members could attend the Missouri School Boards Association annual conference, adopted revisions to the extra duty schedule and approved the 2025–26 career ladder plan. Administrators said the June meeting date change was requested so board members could participate in professional development at the MSBA conference. Mr. Keeling moved to change the meeting date and Mr. Anderson seconded; the motion passed by a show of hands.
The board adopted revisions to the extra duty schedule as presented by administration; Mr. Anderson moved the adoption and Mr. Lercher seconded. The board also approved the 2025–26 career ladder plan; the motion was made, seconded and carried.
Before adjourning to closed session, the board voted to enter closed session citing RSMo 610.020 subsections 1 (legal actions), 3 (hiring, firing, discipline, promotion) and 13 (individual personnel records/performance). A roll-call vote was taken and the motion passed; the transcript records unanimous affirmative responses but does not include a full member-by-member roll-call list in the public remarks.
