Radcliffe honors Fort Knox BOSS volunteers for April flood relief

Sergeant White, president of the BOSS program at Fort Knox, told the council the unit “came to help out our community” during flood relief and that volunteers also supported a dog-rescue effort. He said roughly 23 soldiers and the command sergeant major joined flood-relief work and “put in about 8 hours” distributing supplies on April 12.
The presentation included several named soldiers and a formal plaque reading that the City of Radcliffe thanks the Fort Knox BOSS program for coordinating with Project Hope to serve families affected by the April floods. Speakers at the meeting described the BOSS volunteers as having provided hundreds of hours of community service in the previous two months.
Members of the military delegation invited council and residents to Fort Knox summer programming, including a Fourth of July event and a June 14 run the presenters noted as upcoming community opportunities.
No formal city action or vote was taken related to the recognition; the award was presented during the council's presentations portion of the special meeting.
