Commission approves $797,955 for furniture, fixtures and equipment for 900 Concourse move

The Pennington County Board of Commissioners authorized up to $797,955 in bond funds for FF&E and related moving services for the county’s 900 Concourse administration building, including new chamber seating and office furnishings.
Buildings and grounds director Davis Purcell asked the board for spending authority to cover furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) and move-related services connected to the county’s move into the 900 Concourse administration building.
Purcell told the board much of the existing furniture will be replaced; the request covers desks, cubicles, waiting-room furnishings, chamber seating and move costs. “The majority of the furniture at Concourse is going to be new outside of storage and then just specific, miscellaneous furniture that the departments have that we will be taking over,” Purcell said.
Commissioners authorized Buildings and Grounds to expend up to $797,955 from available bond funds to procure FF&E and move services. Commissioner Gary Drews made the motion, and the board approved it by voice vote.
Purcell said a contingency was included because the county will order items in phases and lead times and moving costs may vary. He also reported surplus cubicles are listed for auction and that pre-existing items may be sold before the new procurement is completed.
Ending: The board approved the spending authorization; Purcell said procurement and staged ordering will proceed under the approved authority and that some items will be sold as surplus to offset logistics and storage costs.
