The Rangeley Select Board authorized the town manager May 19 to sign the contract for crack repair and pavement markings at the municipal airport. Joe told the board the airport commission and the town manager have already authorized the contract terms and that the project follows Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) procurement procedures for AIP-funded work, including an independent fee estimate by a second engineer (Jacobs) to verify cost reasonableness.
Joe said project costs will be reimbursed by federal AIP grant funds after the town advances payment; the town share is expected to be in the 5–10% range at project closeout. The airport commission recommended approval; the board’s authorization allows the town manager to finalize and sign the contract.
