The proclamation, read into the record at the May 19 meeting, recounted milestones including Minnesota’s 1993 law outlawing sexual‑orientation and gender discrimination in employment, housing and accommodations and the 2013 state legalization of same‑sex marriage. It also noted Roseville’s 2021 municipal ban on conversion therapy for minors and vulnerable adults and referred to Minnesota’s subsequent statewide ban in 2023.
Councilmembers voiced support for the city’s efforts to promote inclusion and praised community groups, school‑based student supporters and volunteers who help provide outreach and education. The proclamation passed 4‑0.
