Superintendent highlights staff awards, scholarships and Memorial Day events at Everett meeting

The superintendent also reported that Detective Steven Romuno of the Everett Police Department will receive an award at a national school safety conference in Texas for work supporting school resource officer partnerships and district safety efforts. The superintendent said Romuno led recent ALICE training across the district.
The superintendent said the district recently awarded "over $100,000 in scholarships" to students from various local organizations, and he thanked community donors including Kiwanis and the chamber of commerce. He announced an eighth-grade parent night "on Wednesday, May" from 5 to 7 p.m.; the transcript did not specify an exact calendar date.
