TIPP CITY, Ohio — The Tipp City Council introduced an ordinance May 19 to amend the 2025 appropriations so the city can buy replacement police vehicles this year after an engine failure in one patrol car.
City staff presented the proposed amendment during first reading. “This ordinance amends the 2025 appropriations to move up the purchase of police vehicles from 2026 to 2025, due to engine failure in one of our patrol vehicles,” staff told council.
Council members agreed to sponsor the ordinance and advance it for the next meeting. No final vote on adoption occurred; the item was presented as a first reading and will return to council for subsequent consideration.
The move shifts planned capital spending forward to address an equipment failure the city identified. Additional budget details, exact vehicle counts, and funding sources were not specified during the presentation.
Council members may vote on the ordinance at a later meeting when staff provides any additional documentation required for final passage.
