Dave Hunt, executive director of NAMI Clackamas, told the Wilsonville City Council on May 19 that his nonprofit offers free mental‑health education and support and invited civic groups to request presentations.
"Everything we do is free," Hunt said, describing NAMI’s peer-to-peer and family-to-family classes, support groups including Spanish-language and queer-specific groups, and peer-support specialists available as free resources for people struggling to find therapists who accept their insurance or are taking new clients.
Hunt said NAMI runs an eight‑week class offered once a quarter, multiple support groups, and a Parenting and Mental Health Conference scheduled May 31. He also said Clackamas Repertory Theatre had donated a block of tickets for a June 26 theater fundraiser. Hunt encouraged civic groups, businesses and faith communities to ask NAMI to present resources locally.
The council had earlier noted a mental‑health awareness proclamation from April; Hunt’s presentation provided program details and contact information for residents seeking services or community presentations.
