Kirksville staff to maintain current fluoride reporting; council declines state program participation that requires perpetual reporting

The council directed staff to respond to the state contact indicating the council's position. No change to the city’s current reporting practices was adopted; staff will notify the Department of Health and Senior Services that Kirksville received the response and provide the council’s direction.
Councilors framed the decision as preserving local control over equipment maintenance and reporting responsibilities while maintaining existing information flows to the state.
