The Kirksville City Council approved an updated list of sole‑source vendors as required by the city’s purchasing policy.
City Manager Mary Maycomb told the council that staff reviewed the list a year after initial approval and identified a few vendors — including Microcom — that provide products or services for which there are no local alternatives. The updated list will remain in place until the council’s next formal review in 2027.
Council members said they appreciate the policy’s role in managing procurement while allowing the city to continue using necessary vendors that have unique products or services. The council approved the updated list by voice vote.
Staff will retain documentation supporting each sole‑source designation as required under Policy No. 31 and report back at the next formal review.
