Wendy Headley of the Wood County Parks District presented a $5,000 grant and a plaque to the City of Bowling Green to fund a bench replacement at Needle Hall in City Park.
"We're pleased to be able to present this grant. It's a $5,000 check to you," Headley said during the presentation, noting the parks district has provided similar awards to other local communities. She said the grant will be dedicated to the bench replacement at Needle Hall.
Mayor Osbacher and councilmembers thanked Headley and the parks board. In his official report, Mayor Osbacher described parks as a key community asset and referenced recent community-led improvements, including a rededication at Simpson Garden. He asked that Headley convey the council’s appreciation to the parks board.
No formal council action was required for the presentation; the grant was presented at the meeting and the council acknowledged the award.
