Board approves county payment for meals and ground travel for Superior Court staff attending Safe Babies conference

The Graham County Board of Supervisors on May 19 approved county support for meals and ground transportation so a Superior Court staff member can accept a travel scholarship to an out-of-state conference.
Mindy, speaking for Superior Court, said Brandy Lee, the court's dependency coordinator, was awarded two travel scholarships to attend the 2025 Cross-Site Safe Babies Annual Conference in Portland, Oregon, Aug. 5-7. Prevent Child Abuse Arizona will reimburse attendees individually for airfare and hotel, but the county would need to cover meals and ground transportation to accept the scholarship. "She anticipates the meals and the ground transportation per person to be about $442," Mindy said. She added Judge Ragland may or may not attend.
Board members approved the request by voice vote after members said the benefits justified the cost. A motion to approve the out-of-state travel and obligate county payment for meals and ground transportation passed with no recorded opposition.
