The measure, sponsored by Council Members Conwell, Slife, Santana, Spencer, Bishop, Harrison and Polencik, passed after a motion to suspend the rules by Council Member Bishop and a second by Council Member Slife. The roll-call on adoption recorded 12 ayes and no nays.
The resolution is a recommendation to the administration and does not appropriate funds or change city code. Sponsors said the measure would make city facilities more family friendly and accessible for caregivers.
