District 128 prepares 2025–26 consolidated district plan for federal grants

District administrators told the Program and Personnel Committee the consolidated district plan (CDP) for 2025–26 will look similar to the prior year and must be approved by the full board before the district applies for Title and IDEA grants.
Tom, a district administrator, told the Program and Personnel Committee on May 12 that the Illinois consolidated district plan (CDP) compiles the district’s Title I, II, III, V and IDEA grant plans into a single document the district uses to apply for and manage federal funds.
"Instead of those grants all being spread out and done, kind of piecemeal, what the consolidated district plan does is it asks us as a school district to take all of those grants and consolidate 1. What is our plan for using the funds that are available in those different grants to meet our district and student needs?" Tom said.
Tom said the district is not proposing major changes to its school-improvement approaches for 2025–26. "We are not making major changes to our school improvement efforts for next year. We'll have some iterative changes, but we are not taking on new initiatives or using the money to tackle a new kind of program or approach," he said. The administration provided last year’s CDP as background and said the updated 2025–26 document will be available to board members within a week and will come to the May full board meeting for approval so the district can submit grant applications.
No formal vote occurred in committee; the CDP requires board approval before the district submits for Title and IDEA funds.
