Doña Ana County assessor: valuation notices sent May 1; protest deadline June 2

Assessor Eugenia Gina Montoya Ortega told the Doña Ana County Board of County Commissioners that notices of value were mailed May 1 and that property owners have 30 days from mailing to file a protest.
Montoya Ortega said residents may submit protests online or visit the assessor’s office for in-person help; because of the Memorial Day holiday and because June 1 falls on a Sunday this year, the county set the protest deadline at 5 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2025.
The assessor also noted residents who signed up for e-notices can view valuations online using the code printed on their notice and the county’s enrollment portal at enoticesonline.com. Montoya Ortega said veterans’ exemption certificates in the $4,000-to-$10,000 range are being accepted for this assessment cycle. She said certificates that apply a disability percentage exemption will not be accepted for the current cycle and will instead be accepted beginning in February 2026 to apply to the next tax year.
The information was presented during the county commission meeting recap by Anita Skipper, chief public information officer for Doña Ana County. No formal vote or policy change on assessor procedures was recorded during the recap.
