County approves trial for case‑management software for community corrections; long‑term cost to be reviewed

Commissioners unanimously authorized the community corrections director to sign the trial agreement and asked program leaders to develop a plan for how the recurring cost would be covered if the county chooses to continue after the trial. The county attorney reviewed the draft and requested a few standard contract changes; commissioners said the IT and legal reviews were satisfactory for initial acceptance and that staff should proceed with caution.
Commissioners and staff noted that the product is new in the marketplace and currently used by two other Indiana counties; while those users reported favorable results, board members stressed the importance of tracking demonstrated savings and operational improvements during the trial before committing to the higher ongoing monthly fee.
The motion to authorize the director to sign the case‑management agreement passed without recorded opposition.
