District to switch benchmark tests to i-Ready; approves EduClimber and college-career platform change

Tim (assessment staff) told the board the district will adopt i-Ready as its districtwide benchmark assessment for literacy and math to align with recent state guidance and to provide consistent grade-level measures from kindergarten through eighth grade.
Tim also presented a proposed three-year contract with EduClimber to store and visualize student data, freeing staff from manual spreadsheets and enabling longitudinal cohort tracking. “Tim will be spearheading like The Wizard of Oz behind the scenes guiding EduCLIMBER,” a district leader said, adding the platform will consolidate assessment, behavior and intervention data.
The board heard that the high school will move from Naviance to SchoolLinks for college and career planning because SchoolLinks integrates more smoothly with Infinite Campus and reduces duplicate manual entries for counselors.
Board members asked about historical data from NWEA and comparability to i-Ready. Staff said they are exporting NWEA data and preparing imports into EduClimber; assessment staff noted the instruments are scored differently and will require interpretation when comparing past NWEA RIT scores to i-Ready grade-level measures.
The board approved the academic assessment plan for 2025–26 and a three-year EduClimber contract; the consent agenda also included the SchoolLinks procurement.
